ASICS has always looked into stabilizing your run for a less stressful and more injury-free running experience. The Gel Kayano looks into giving better comfort and stability for the longer distances for an athlete. The Duomax technology on this shoe will help you a lot in your long runs.
Looks, Usage, and Type
Looks:
The Kayano 26 comes with various colour options for you to pick from. Some of my favourite ones are the White/Lake Drive, Black/Black and the Midnight/ Grey Floss. You can explore the rest of the collection here. This edition of the GEL-KAYANO® 26 running shoe showcases a vibrant new design while added reflective details improve your visibility when you’re out after dark. You can also go for the Platinum editions which come in white and gold colours for men and white and rose gold colours for women.
Usage:
The Gel Kayano 26 is designed to go the distance while providing a great level of stabilization. Fitted with the Flyte Foam technology, which extends from the heel to the forefoot for a great experience. It comes with the Rearfoot gel technology cushioning which softens your landing with more shock absorption. The guidance Trusstic and Duomax technology will help you conquer every distance and collapse your arch inwards. Your pronation will receive maximum support so your ankle does not rollover. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe.
Type:
The Gel Kayano 26 is protected with a jacquard mesh upper for a lightweight quality that allows your feet to breathe. They are basically ASICS’s answer to overpronation. The Doumax helps avoid medial midsole deformation when the foot rolls-in due to the pronation of the runner, providing a more stable platform. The desired experience here is for comfort and protection. They weigh around 315 gr, laced with external heel clutch counter. The gel tech is designed more aggressively on the 26, which will help you reduce the knee pain, the back pain and all the discomfort.
My Experience so far….
I still haven’t put the Gel Kayano26 through rigorous distance yet. During the initial few runs, I did get a couple of blisters, which I feel are quite normal if you take a fresh pair for a run. The stability on the shoes is pretty solid. A bit heavier in comparison to a fast responsive model, but you can always go for a GT 2000 or a Gel-DS trainer instead which are comparatively lighter. It also comes with a gender-specific heel gradient. I will definitely recommend this shoe for all you running with pronated feet, as these are the ideals one for you when it comes to comfort and cushioning. I really like how the ankle and heel feel, which so stability and yet it has room to breathe around.
